Motorola has officially announced the new Edge S smartphone, which features the latest processor from Qualcomm, the 7nm Snapdragon 870 with 5G support. It also got a fast UFS 3.1 flash.
The novelty received a 6.7-inch display with an IPS-matrix, a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. There is support for HDR10. The display has a pair of holes for the front cameras – the main one at 16 megapixels and an additional ultra-wide one at 8 megapixels. The fingerprint scanner is built into the side frame of the device.
On the rear panel there are four camera modules: the main 64 megapixel with support for 6K recording at 30 fps, ultra-wide 16 megapixel, a 2 megapixel depth sensor and a ToF sensor.
Responsible for autonomy is a 5000 mAh battery with support for 20 W fast charging, a suitable adapter is included. The smartphone received IP52 dust and splash protection and a 3.5 mm headphone jack – which is a rarity in 2021. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11.
Motorola Edge S will go on sale on February 3rd. China has already opened pre-orders at the following prices:
- 6 GB + 128 GB – 1,999 yuan
- 8 GB + 128 GB – 2,399 yuan
- 8 GB + 256 GB – 2,799 yuan
