In Israel, a startup called StoreDot has created a battery for electric cars that will allow to fully charge it in 5 minutes. And they have already unveiled the first prototype of the battery.
Conventional batteries in electric cars can fully charge a car in 4 hours. This is due to the fact that in order to provide high-speed charging, it is necessary to use heavy-duty power sources. Unfortunately, not all charging points for electric cars have them yet.
You either have to wait two hours at a charging station – or you risk stopping somewhere in the middle of the highway. But if an electric car driver feels like driving a car with regular fuel, that anxiety will go away,” says Doron Meyersdorf, director of the startup StoreDot.
Along with the new high-speed battery, the startup wants to distribute power sources by 2025.
It is reported that such fast-charging batteries could go into mass production and sale within the next three years.
