Lulu Wang, director of “Goodbye,” has teamed up with Apple to make a short film called “Nian,” which is dedicated to the Chinese New Year.
The film reimagines a Chinese legend in terms of the story of a girl growing up. The short film was worked on by the Farewell team in the U.S. and China, with all precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Importantly, the entire film was shot not on the usual cameras, but on an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which Apple has positioned as the best smartphone for filmmakers.
The short film can already be seen on Apple’s YouTube channel, and you can find out how it was filmed here.
